dc.descriptionThe effects of transgenic crop and federal biofuel policy (ethanol) on state-level cropping patterns in the Corn Belt region are investigated during 1996-2012. Empirical evidence generated by a random intercept model with fixed effects indicates corn production was positively impacted by these factors, but the effects across states are heterogeneous.
