It was hosted by the Government of Thailand, and held in Phuket, Thailand, from November 27 to 30, 1979. The document includes a summary of progress made in the first year of operation and outlines of future work. It therefore serves as a source of reference to officials of the countries concerned and might be of interest to other agencies and people engaged in small-scale fisheries development particularly in the Bay of Bengal area.
