This document is a report of the fourth meeting of the Advisory Committee of the programme “Development of Small- Scale Fisheries in the Bay of Bengal”. It was hosted by the Government of Thailand, and held in Phuket, Thailand, from November 27 to 30, 1979. The report records the deliberations and the conclusions of the meeting and was approved by the committee. The document includes a summary of progress made in the first year of operation and outlines of future work. It therefore serves as a source of reference to officials of the countries concerned and might be of interest to other agencies and people engaged in small-scale fisheries development particularly in the Bay of Bengal area.
