This talk explores the biotechnological potential of converting waste into protein through microbial fermentation and insect farming, with a focus on black soldier flies, yeast–based processes, and biorefinery integration. Drawing from both scientific research and entrepreneurial experience, the discussion highlights the value of waste as a resource and its role in strengthening circular, bio–based systems in emerging economies.
