Thedevelopmentofbioinspirednanofibrousscaffoldswithadjustablefunctionsisessential forarangeofapplications, fromtissueengineeringtosustainablematerialsthatexploitthehierarchicalarchitecturesofBombyxmorisilks.Inthiswork,wereport theproductionoforganic−inorganicnanofibersbyincorporatingtheorganosilane(3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane(APTES)intosilk fibroinusingthesolutionblowspinning(SB-spinning)technique.TheincorporationofAPTESaimstomodulatesolutionrheological properties,promoteconformational transitiontoβ-sheet-richstructures,andincreasethethermal stabilityof theresultingnanofiber, makingthemmoresuitableforbiomedicalapplications.SilkfibroinwasisolatedfromB.moricocoons,dissolvedinaternaryCaCl2/ EtOH/H2Osolution,andhybridizedwithAPTESbeforefiberproduction.Theresultingnanofibersdisplayedsmooth,uniformmor phologies andnanoscalediameters, confirming theeffectivenessof SB-spinning for creatinghybridsystems.Rheological analyses showedthataddingAPTESreducedviscosityandenhancedtheprocessabilityoffibroinsolutions.SpectroscopicandX-raydiffraction datarevealedanincreasedβ-sheetcontentandcrystallinityinthehybridfibers,whilethermogravimetricanalysisindicatedimproved thermal stability.Overall, theseresultsdemonstrate that incorporatingAPTESeffectivelyalters thephysicochemical andstructural propertiesofsilkfibroin,enablingtheproductionofpromisingnanofibrousscaffoldsforbiomedicalapplications.Thisstudythusintro ducesanapproachtoengineeringorganic−inorganichybridbiomaterialsviaascalable, low-costspinningprocess.
