Resumen
Descripción
CRISPR/Cas9 technology is a valuable tool for cattle precision breeding. The guide (sgRNA) and Cas9 can be injected into zygote’s cytoplasm; however, it is timing consuming and can impair embryo viability. We have shown that electroporation can be used to deliver sgRNA and Cas9 effectively, promoting gene editing in bovine embryos without affecting their in vitro viability (Camargo et al. 2020 Front Genet 11: 570069). In this study, our objective was to assess whether in vitro-fertilized and electroporated embryos could successfully generate gene-edited Angus calves.
