Se presentan perspectivas de expertos del Hemisferio Occidental para examinar algunos de los problemas más apremiantes que enfrenta la producción pecuaria. Se aborda la producción pecuaria y la proteína animal como esenciales para los sistemas alimentarios sustentables por el importante papel que juega la proteína animal en la dieta saludable, los compromisos que los agricultores y ganaderos con la producción ambientalmente sustentable, así como las tecnologías interesantes, que les ayudarán a seguir priorizando el medio ambiente al mismo tiempo que aumentan la productividad y la eficiencia, y también el desarrollo de las comunidades rurales en todo el mundo.
