Descripción
The general objective of the document is to train trainers in the prevention and mitigation of cadmium contamination in cocoa in Latin America and the Caribbean. The methodology is based on a participatory, practice-oriented learning guide divided into thematic modules and learning units. It includes workshops, group dynamics, field practices, and diagnostic tools. It was validated with stakeholders from the cocoa sector in Ecuador and Peru. Main outcomes include the development of skills to identify contamination sources, conduct proper sampling, apply good agricultural practices, and create management plans. The guide emphasizes collaborative work among farmers, technicians, and organizations.
