Descripción
This report delivers Myanmar’s first thorough assessment of the agrifood processing sector in over 10 years, providing an empirical foundation for policy on private sector development. Based on a nationally representative survey of 400 firms across five regions, two states, and the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory (August–October 2025), this study covers four main value chains: rice milling, edible oil, processed foods, and animal products. It reviews firm characteristics, production and sales, employment, inputs, infrastructure, finance, technology, certification, disaster risk, and productivity, offering a clear picture of sector performance amid current conditions.
