This manual is to help planners to integrate food consumption and nutrition considerations into agricultural and rural development projects. It is designed for use not only by nutritionists and food economists but also by anyone engaged in planning projects, who has some knowledge related to nutrition and food or has access to professionals in these areas. It covers all phases of the work involved, but it does not necessarily have to be used in its entirety. Planners are advised to s elect only that part which is suitable for their needs and to vary the sequence or numbers of tasks according to the time and information available.
