Agricultural production in Viet Nam has to rely on a limited land resource, being among the lowest agricultural land areas in the world. Soils in Viet Nam are also limited in quality, since they are located in highly eroded territories, where the layers are thin, with little organic matter, acidic and the texture is sandy, leading to runoff and leaching of nutrients and cations. Adding up to this, Viet Nam also faces soil degradation due to unsustainable agricultural management practices.
