This report details three Photovoice workshops facilitated by the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR), in collaboration with the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, the World Vegetable Center and the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (FNRI-DOST). These workshops were organized under Work Package 5 of the CGIAR Initiative on Fruit and Vegetables for Sustainable Healthy Diets (FRESH). The workshops were held in Barangay Linglingay and Barangay Valle in Nueva Ecija, encompassing both rural and urban settings to capture diverse perspectives—particularly those of vulnerable households struggling to acquire and sell fruits and vegetables. The main objectives of the workshops were to characterize the local food environment and gain a deeper understanding of lived experiences within these settings. The workshops also sought to investigate the relationship between consumers and vendors, a key factor in shaping supply and demand. During the workshops, participants analysed their photographs, identified key themes for discussion, and explored potential food environment interventions to improve fruit and vegetable consumption.
