This publication aims at describing the process of price determination of agricultural products as well as different analytical tools. It is conceived as an aid to analyse prices of agricultural products in West Africa, particularly cereals (millet, sorghum, maize and rice). The module aims at assisting the Market Information Systems (MIS) to provide in-depth price analyses in order to improve food security policies in the West African region. This module consists of four main sections: agr icultural price determination and price discovery, the different components of the evolution of agricultural prices over time, relative prices and their use, and the calculation and use of parity prices.
