The analysis presented in this report is a continuation of an earlier FAO project in Kyrgyzstan in 2018 where the legal and institutional frameworks were assessed vis-à-vis the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT). This report explores the current situation on the functioning of agricultural land markets, the structure of farms, the perception and limitations of the land markets, with a specific focus on access to land for women and youth, the development of the agricultural land markets and the feasibility of land management instruments.
