Resumen

Descripción

Household food access is likely to be seriously constrained by high food prices. Nominal maize price may soon approach the level observed in 2008. Drought has led to food security deterioration and an increase in the number of people in need of food aid from 1.6 million to 2.4 million people. Insecurity at the Somali border has displaced thousand of people while negative weather conditions have also led to increased communal clashes throughout the country. The Government is continuing to provide input subsidies to targeted farmers to support agricultural production.
