dc.descriptionEn nuestro informe para el año 1945-46 dijimos que los tres años anteriores a esa fecha se habían dedicado a la preparación de un programa de investigación y educación. Podemos decir ahora que en el período transcurrido desde esa fecha se ha visto el desarrollo de dicho programa. Además, estos años formativos han madurado en la institución un patrón de investigación fundamental y educación avanzada y el inicio de un programa de liderazgo internacional al servicio de los países americanos. función de complementar el esfuerzo nacional y estimular los avances en el bienestar de la agricultura y la vida rural con sentido de coordinación.

We can say now that the period since that date has seen the development of such a program. Further- more, these formative years have matured in the institution a pattern of fundamental research and advanced education and the inception of a program of international leadership in service to the American coun- tries. function of complementing national effort and stimulating advances in the welfare of agriculture and rural life with a sense of coordina- tion.
