| dc.description | Training the employees is a very important function of an institution in order to develop its activities and accomplish fixed objectives. Training should be formulate according to the institution's aims, the specific needs of its employees and availability of resources. Considering these aspects, the ICA's Diffusion Division searching the correct way of transfering the adequate technology to the producers to help them in the solution of their production problems, carried out this research with the objective of determing the level of communication knowledge owned by the technicians in charge of the transfer of technology, as well as to decide on the media through which they would prefer to be trained. At random, 784 employees (40.4%) out of 2.581 professionals and auxiliaries belonging to the nine branches of the ICA's research and Development Submanagement, tilled out a questionary which provided the desired information. The analysis of the gathered data showed that 67.5% require the technical support from the Diftusion Division to do their work. Also they asked for training on communication planing and media production, and expressed their preference for courses as the best way to be trained. Although the interviewed recognize that they have some knowledge on communication, most of them (62.2%) considerer it to be rather low. | |
| dc.description | La capacitación es un instrumento fundamental para que una institución cumpla a cabalidad los objetivos que se ha propuesto. Sus contenidos deben diseñarse considerando los propósitos que persigue la entidad, las necesidades de sus funcionarios y los recursos disponibles. La División de Divulgación del ICA consciente de esta situación y con miras a llevar eficiente y oportunamente a los productores la tecnología adecuada a sus problemas tecnológicos, realizó una investigación en la cual se determinó el nivel de conocimientos que en técnicas de comunicación tienen los profesionales y expertos agropecuarios del Instituto, así como los medios que ellos prefieren para capacitarse. Mediante un cuestionario se obtuvo información de 784 funcionarios (40.4%) seleccionados al azar de un total de 2.581 profesionales y ayudantes de técnico de las Subgerencias de Investigación y Fomento, localizados en las 9 regionales del ICA. Los resultados indican que el 67.5% de ellos requieren el apoyo de Divulgación para el buen desempeño de sus funciones y solicitan capacitación en planificación de la comunicación y producción de medios, especialmente. Los medios preferidos para recibir capacitación son los cursos. Aunque consideran que tienen conocimientos básicos de comunicación, un buen porcentaje (62.2%) los califican de regulares. | |
