Resumen

Descripción

Considerable progress has been made in technology development in Asia, yet most technology has been targeted at men. While the overall position of women in Thailand compares well with other developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region, gender inequalities persist. In this context, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific cooperated on a project to assess gender differentiated technology needs as well as availability and dissemination modalities in selected villages in Thailand, and to identify capacity building strategies to improve rural women's access to and use of technologies in support of poverty alleviation. This publication presents a summary of the findings as well as recommendations to address the gender gap.
