The implementation of the project contributed to the transformation of the forestry sector in Zimbabwe, enhancing its capacity to support green growth, climate change adaptation and mitigation, as well as national climate action. It contributed to the implementation of the CPF, supporting national aspirations to attain upper middle income economy status by 2030 as also outlined in the National Development Strategy 1. The initiative established a framework for the implementation of REDD+ and carbon projects, both of which are fundamental to achieving the SDGs.The project achieved its intended results by enhancing technical and institutional capacities within the Forestry Commission and establishing foundational systems for forest monitoring and emission reporting.
