This report contains the resolutions and working documents reviewed during the meeting, covering resolutions 1 through 12.
The meeting took place from February 17 to 19, 1981, in San José, Costa Rica, as the first special meeting of the Inter-American Board of Agriculture, aimed at establishing its governance structures and operational guidelines. Delegations from Member States, along with representatives from the OAS and observer organizations, discussed institutional organization, the election of the Director General, the composition of the Executive Committee, internal regulations, quotas, and regional cooperation. As a result, decisions included the approval of operational rules, the integration and rotation of the Executive Committee, the call for the election of the Director General, the scheduling of the first regular meeting, the renegotiation of agreements, amendments to CATIE, observer admission, and formal acknowledgments to the host country.
