dc.descriptionThe regional Ministerial Meeting on “Water and Drought as Agricultural Challenges in the NENA Region and Beyond: The Contribution of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture,” hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, led by H.E. Dr Fuad bin Jaafar Al-Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture & Fisheries Wealth of Oman, adopted the Muscat Ministerial Declaration on the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture on 21 September 2013. Subsequently, a Steering Committee comprising key representatives and experts from the major agricultural organizations in the NENA region was set up to follow-up on the Ministerial Declaration and the Framework for an Action Plan for the Implementation of the Benefit-Sharing Fund in the Near East & North Africa (NENA) Region 2014-2020 (annexed to the Declaration).
