Fisheries magement Areas (FMAs) 572 (Indian Ocean – west Sumatera) and 573 (South of Java – East Nusa Tenggara), 571 (Malaka strait and Andaman Sea) are three fisheries magement areas among eleven FMAs that located within the IOTC area of competence. Long liners is the main fishing gear type operated in those FMAs, was 1227 vessels in 2013. The tiol catch of four main tu species in 2012 was estimated 168,626 t while the total catch for all species by all gears type was estimated 398,540 t. Port sampling and scientific observer programs is still continuing and conducted by Research Institute for Tu fisheries (RITF) Benoa. Recently ministerial regulation of MMAF no 01 year 2013 concerning observer onboard for fishing and carrier vessel was issued, furthermore Database Sharing Systems for Fisheries Magement which integrate a number of databases, including the licensing, logbook and VMS databases has recently launched by the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries on 19 November 2013 in J akarta.
