dc.descriptionWith the global population expected to reach 9.6 billion by 2050, agriculture must meet the challenges of hunger and malnutrition in a context of increased pressure on natural resources, including soils and water, the loss of biodiversity and the uncertainty surrounding climate change. Farmers in dryland areas face constraints such as low water availability, low soil fertility and high density of weeds and pests. With climate change expected to lead to a decrease in average annual rainfall, and with average temperatures on the rise, the present project was developed in order to contribute to the development of agroecology in drylands as a tool to fight food insecurity, mitigate and adapt to climate change and restore degraded lands.
