What is the FAO Geospatial Unit and what does it do? The aim of this flyer is to describe essentially the activity of the team, how - with more than 30 years of experience in the development and use of geospatial methods and tools - it collects and disseminates data, how precious is its support to the development of agricultural plans for the governments of the increasing countries and its contribution to implement appropriate solutions, to create sustainable food systems (FAO SO2). This is in line with the priorities of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and it is clear however that no meaningful and effective action can be taken without sound and timely data to inform and guide decision makers. This informative flyer will be our visit card at meetings, events, international forums, etc. for creating awareness about the projects of monitoring and mapping that we can offer, based on the latest and most efficient spatial technologies.
