Descripción
The project focused on strengthening Iraq’s animal health system through coordinated legal reform, capacity development, institutional strengthening and technological innovation.It supported the revision of veterinary legislation in line with international standards, established national coordination mechanisms between animal and human health authorities, and enhanced the skills of veterinary professionals in disease detection, diagnostics and emergency response. The project reinforced Iraq’s ability to prevent, detect and respond to animal and zoonotic disease threats in a timely and coordinated manner.
