Descripción
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), guided by the FAO Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) Strategy 2020–2030 and the Strategy for Sustainability Management in the UN System 2020–2030, and in coordination with other UN agencies undertaking the Greening the Blue initiative, is constantly seeking to enhance and augment the sustainability portfolios of its facilities and daily operations. The current report describes and showcases greening initiatives and achievements from across FAO, along with the environmental performance of the Organization for the year 2025. These achievements are mainly related to the planning and implementation of initiatives at headquarters and in Decentralized Offices (DOs). The report also discloses the results of the annual environmental inventory exercise, displaying CO2 emissions associated to FAO business operations in 2024.
