Moroccan Locust (DMA) natural cycle completed in all Central Asian (CA) countries at the end of the reporting period, while mating and egg-laying continued in Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Russian Federation. Italian Locust (CIT) started mating and egg-laying in Central Asia and fledging in Caucasus and the Russian Federation. Asian Migratory Locust (LMI) fledging and mating started in Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. The situation requiring attention (threat) remains for CIT in Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as for CIT and LMI in Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. For other countries and species, the situation became calm. Countries continued surveys of hoppers and adults (on egg-laying sites). Chemical treatments covered 428 366 hectares (ha) in July and 4  805 231 ha from the start of the campaign in all Caucasus and Central Asia (CCA) countries. The overall treated area was 1.5% lower compared to the same period of 2024 (4 878 571 ha). In the forecasted period, life cycle will be completed in all areas for DMA, as well as the CIT in the Caucasus and in the remaining part of CA. CIT and LMI mating and egg-laying will continue in Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
