| dc.description | Effective control of animal diseases is a critical element of any strategy that aims at supporting and enhancing livestock dependent livelihoods of rural poor. Over the years, the literature on delivery of livestock services has increasingly emphasized that the governments in developing countries have a public responsibility in ensuring that the incidence of animal diseases, specially those diseases that cause substantial economic losses for the poor, is reduced significantly so that the product ion and trade losses are minimized and private costs of treatment substantially reduced. | |
