The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has collaborated with the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) since 2009 to support activities and programmes that contribute to building lasting peace in countries emerging from conflict. To date, FAO has received US$11.6 million in support from the PBF through 12 emergency projects, with more than 80 percent of them taking place in Africa. Beneficiary countries include Burundi, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea -Bissau, Kyrgyzstan, South Sudan, Uganda and Yemen.
