The “Food Security Information System Project” was originally designed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 2010 in close cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Melioration (MoAM), Ministry of Economic and Antimonopoly Policy, National Statistical Committee (NSC) and Agency for Hydro Meteorology (Hydromet). The main objective is to increase the use of information on food security and to improve related policies in Kyrgyzstan. The project was funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by FAO. This final evaluation aims to provide a critical analysis and key recommendations to improve the sustainability of the existing system and to inform the development of future projects. The methodology includes a review of existing technical and financial documents, and interviews with the main stakeholders. One field visit was made to review the Hydromet remote system, including trips to several oblasts to assess the efficiency of different devices as compared with the previous practices
