The Training Manual for Promoting Circular Economy Practices in Schools provides guidance for teachers, trainers, and school stakeholders on introducing sustainable waste management and circular economy concept to school children. It explains how waste generated from homes, schools, industries, and agriculture can lead to pollution, disease outbreak, and environmental harm. The manual presents the waste hierarchy, highlighting prevention, reduction, reuse, and recycling as the most effective methods of managing waste. It compares the traditional linear economy, where materials are used and discarded with the circular economy, which keeps resources in use through repair, reuse, and recycling. The manual also encourages the adoption of the circular bioeconomy, demonstrating how organic waste can be transformed into compost, energy, or animal feed, thus lowering environmental impact and generating economic benefit. Practical sections of the manual guide schools through forming environmental clubs, analyzing their waste streams, setting recycling targets, and implementing segregation systems with clearly labeled bins. Additionally, it provides step-by-step training instructions, activities, and evaluation strategies tailored to different age groups.
