Incubated as a Microsoft research project in Bangalore, India, in 2006, the Digital Green participatory video project was part of an effort to test different ways of using technology for social development. This project focuses specifically on testing the use of participatory video as a means of agricultural extension. The approach was proven to be substantially more effective as a means of extension than existing conventional agricultural extension programmes.
