The Embrapa Pecuaria Sudeste management chemical program is implement since 2003. The aim of this manuscript was to described a blance of the first year activities, the main results, the laboratories adaptation, and the difficulties to implement the chemical waste treatment process, such as the need to involve ali the workers with the project. The assessment related with the geared units (GU) will be discussed, since the collect, transportation, treatment and final disposition of the treated residues. The main analytical methods used to treat the residues will emphasize, and also recuperation procedures. The minimization of residue production have been implement with news researches and procedures, as the fat extractor, the fiber analyzer, and the use of flow injection procedures. The researches related with residues treatment and minimization will be present to show the need of new alternatives developments in this branch.
