Apple (Malus x domestica Borkh.) is the most important deciduous tree fruit crop grown around the world, and also in the Southern of Brazil. Researches on apple genetic breeding include disease resistance mechanisms, grafting, chilling requirement, fruit ripening and production of nutraceutical compounds.
