This brief is part of Global Peatlands Initiative’s support, with FAO’s lead, to better support national governments in the process of enhancing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) through the inclusion of climate action on wetlands. This is the third part of a series of products on peatlands and climate commitments. The brief will present the results of an analysis of the role of wetlands in achieving national climate change mitigation and adaptation goals and to identify the challenges behind and opportunities for mainstreaming wetlands, peatlands, and mangroves into enhanced NDC targets and measures.
