dc.descriptionThis fact sheet provides a detailed description on the intended support to the crop sector under FAO Iraq EU funded project "Support to agricultural livelihoods of rural and peri-urban returnees and communities in Ninewah Governorate, Iraq". Ninewa Governorate is famous for grain (i.e. wheat and barley), legumes (i.e. chickpeas and lentils) and winter/summer vegetable crops. Vegetable produces in Ninewa will be supported through provision of agricultural inputs and improvement of skills and knowledge to improving the capabilities, skills and knowledge of producers, with the aim of improving productivity and increasing the income of farmers.
