Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Pakistan’s rural economy, providing livelihoods for the majority of the population in Balochistan and Sindh. Yet, smallholder farmers and rural enterprises continue to face structural barriers including low productivity, limited access to markets and finance, weak value chain linkages and growing risks from climate change.The GRASP project was launched to address these challenges. Funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC) in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA), the GRASP project sought to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of small-scale agribusinesses in Balochistan and Sindh.
