A census of agriculture is a large-scale periodic statistical operation for the collection of quantitative information on the structure of a nation's agricultural sector. A major component of this multifaceted economic sector is agricultural labour. Guidelines on employment is a supplement to the definitions. The primary objective is to measure amount of labour resources used on an agricultural holding and to define the type, level, and source of inputs contributing to its agricultural production, its investments and its maintenance.
