At Tobacco Experiment Station in San Juan y Martínez, Pinar del Río an investigation was developed during crop season 2009-2010 y 2010-2011 with the objective of determining the influence of the mycorrhizas and the reduction of the mineral fertilizer in the nurseries. A random blocks design was used, with 15 treatments and four repetitions. The results demonstrated that when applying 75 % of mineral fertilizer + 0,50 kg of HMA.m -2 are possible to obtain a production with same yield and quality that when applying 100 % of mineral fertilizer, with a positive economic and environmental effect, for the effectiveness of the mycorrhization in the seedlings.
