dc.descriptionThis report provides detailed information of a hydroacoustic training course that was organized by the Instituto Nacional de Investigação Pesqueira (IIP) and took place from 22 to 28 July 2013 in Mozambique. The main objective of the course was to provide research staff from Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe with theoretical and practical training on the use and operation of hydroacoustic instruments for the collection of samples, the analysis of fish data and for the purpose of stock assessments in l akes, in particular Lake Malawi and Lake Kariba. This report shows that the objectives of the training course were achieved and highlights further activities that should be conducted so that investments already made are not lost.
