This is the third annual report of the FAO Ombuds Office. The focus has been on three main areas: addressing work-related issues raised by individuals or groups of staff; analysing the root causes of conflict in order to identify systemic issues for positive organisational change; and raising awareness of the Office and the benefits of collaborative approaches to conflict resolution.The role of the Ombudsperson is to support a culture in FAO that is respectful and civil, and in which mutual understanding can be achieved and differences resolved, through dialogue and fair processes. The Ombudsperson provides a confidential, neutral and impartial forum to help promote accountability and fair treatment.
