Descripción
The One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) is an initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) that supports countries in promoting special agricultural products (SAPs) by strengthening the entire value chain, from production to marketing. These strategic products have unique characteristics linked to local geography and cultural heritage, with strong potential for regional and international markets. This poster presents the OCOP initiative in Democratic Republic of the Congo, which has selected cassava as its special agricultural product (SAP). It highlights the socio-economic and cultural importance of cassava, its potential to support more sustainable agrifood systems and rural livelihoods, and ongoing efforts to strengthen the value chain with technical support from FAO.
