The fact sheet shows the importance of the strategy of prevention in Desert Locust control. Its focus is on human and institutional capacity building and preservation, specifically in the front line countries, and the introduction of up-to-date locust monitoring and control technologies in addition to using advanced planning to improve emergency response and reduce potential negative impacts on livelihoods.
