Resumen
Descripción
Join us for an insightful webinar that convenes policymakers, scientists and practitioners from Asia and the Pacific to discuss the essential connections between biodiversity and the health of humans, animals and ecosystems. The event will feature the Regional Quadripartite partners—FAO, United Nations Environment Programme, World Health Organization and the World Organisation for Animal Health—who will introduce the newly approved assessment by the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. This assessment highlights the vital interrelationships among biodiversity, food systems, water resources and public health. Building on the Global Action Plan on Biodiversity and Health, adopted during the sixteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, the webinar will showcase regional success stories of One Health in action. Participants will gain valuable insights into how integrated, cross-sectoral strategies can address current and future health and environmental challenges. Through case studies from Southeast Asia and the Pacific, attendees will deepen their understanding of how vibrant ecosystems contribute to overall well-being. Engage in meaningful discussions to strengthen integrated policies at the human-animal-environment interface, and help pave the way for sustainable solutions that enhance health and resilience in our communities. Don’t miss this opportunity to bridge science, policy, and practice for a healthier, more sustainable future.
