The papers in this volume were originally prepared by FAO staff or by consultants for submission to Round Tables organized in Geneva in 2001 and early 2002. Edited for publication, they also include comments by panellists in some cases. The Round Tables were attended mainly by country representatives/negotiators in WTO, by representatives of interested international organizations and NGOs and by policy advisors. The papers are being published as a collection for the convenience of the interes ted reader and to facilitate their dissemination.
