Descripción
The infographic illustrates the connexion between below and aboveground biodiversity. Both foodwebs perform an inseparable interaction, with
antagonistic and mutualistic relationships between herbivores, pollinators, and soil organic matter decomposers, such as the litter transformers, the saprophagous
macrofauna, and the ecosystem engineers, also known as earthworms and ants. Between the above-ground food web and the below-ground food web, energy and matter are transported in symbiotic beneficial associations that are formed between plants, root feeding organisms and bacteria.
