Descripción

This manual provides, in the first part, an introduction to the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in veterinary epidemiology. The second part describes how a GIS can be used to develop a surveillance strategy for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The approach allows users to identify locations ‘at risk’ for avian influenza incursion and spread. Informed by appropiate data, this methodological approaches described in this manual provide Official Veterinary Services with a useful set of tools to support the development of surveillance strategies based on risk
