(16,7 cm a 30,3 cm). As variáveis mensuradas foram diâmetro a 1,3 m do solo (DAP), altura do fuste e altura total. The objective of the present study was to determine the growth rate of native species in natural vegetation areas of the Pantanal. Trees were selected in Nhecolandia sub-region, municipality of Corumba, MS, for destructive sampling of Astronium fraxinifolium Schott trees (5.8 cm to 32.8 cm diameter at breast height (DBH)), Hymenaea stigonocarpa Mart. ex Hayne (7.5 cm to 50.3 cm), and Simarouba versicolor A.St-Hil. (16.7 cm to 30.3 cm). The measured variables were diameter at 1.3 m above the ground (DBH), stem height, and total height. The trees had a maximum age of 55 years for A. fraxinifolium, 75 years for H. stigonocarpa, and 31 years for S. versicolor. Simarouba versicolor stood out in diametric growth (0.93 cm year-1), and the species with the lowest average increment was A. fraxinifolium (0.41 cm year-1). Johnson-Schumacher model better represented A. fraxinifolium and S. versicolor growth, while the growth of H. stigonocarpa was better represented by Richards model. These species showed indications of different successional behavior, with S. versicolor showing fast growth in the young phase and constant increment when compared to A. fraxinifolium and H. stigonocarpa, which grew slowly in the young phase and faster in the mature phase.
