The purpose is to initiate formally a process for strengthening horizontal reciprocal cooperation between Latin America and the Caribbean in agriculture. The document presents statements with perspective for cooperation between Latin America and the Caribbean. The proceedings provide a valuable framework for undertaking reciprocal horizontal cooperation between the two regions and an inter-institutional mechanism to guide follow-up by Latin american/Caribbean linkages and transfer of technology for agricultural development.
