Resumen

Descripción

Maize prices were slightly higher; nevertheless levels remained steady during most of 2011. The overall food security situation remains stable; however the peak of the lean season in January/February together with the high prices, constrained food access for the low income households. Food security conditions are likely to worsen by the late onset of erratic rains in December affecting the agricultural campaign particularly in some northeastern and southern areas. The Government continues the targeted distribution of input packages to expand households' production together with food distributions in some districts.
